Practice examples

Three practice example stories used to put the intersectional lens into practice.

Part of the 'Equity Change Project'

Introduction

In the ‘putting intersectionality into action’ sections of the resource we use three practice examples stories to put the intersectional lens into practice. The stories can be used as a basis for individual reflections or group discussions.

We first hear reflections from Maggie, Pra and Jack. These stories are used in the ‘putting intersectionality into action – practice' section, where you can use them as a basis to reflect on the perspective of a practitioner, and how using an intersectional lens would impact on the support provided.

In the ‘putting intersectionality into action – support' section we can then hear reflections from practitioners working with Maggie, Pra and Jack, and reflect on the support that the practitioners may need to work in an intersectional way.

In the ‘putting intersectionality into action – leadership' we hear reflections from the leader of the adult social care department, and reflect on what would be different if the organisation was set up to support them in an intersectional way.
